Red Flowers with green foliage.
Cannas are plants that evolved to thrive in tropical climates. The rapid growth of cannas is what makes this possible, as long as the plants receive at least 6 – 8 hours of sunlight during their growing season and they are protected from frost during the winter.
Cannas have large leaves; if subjected to wind, their leaves can become damaged and turn black. When the flowers fade or turn pale, they can easily be removed. This makes the plants look more attractive and stimulates the initiation of new buds and flowering.
