Description
Tradescantia albiflora ‘Albo-Vittata’ is a trailing plant with green leaves marked by white stripes. The stems grow fast and spill well from pots and baskets.
Trim the stems to keep the plant full. Cuttings root easily and can be added back to the same pot.
Light
Give it bright, indirect light. Strong sun can burn the leaves. Low light may reduce the white stripes. For softer pastel color, see Tradescantia ‘Lilac’.
Water and Soil
Use loose soil that drains well. Water when the top starts to dry. Let extra water drain away. For bold purple tones, see Tradescantia zebrina ‘Purpusii’.
Trim and Root
Pinch long stems to help new branches form. Stem pieces with nodes root with ease. Add rooted pieces back to the pot for a thicker plant.
Simple Care
Feed lightly while growth is active. Keep the plant warm and away from frost. Check the stems for pests. For upright striped color, see Tradescantia spathacea ‘Tricolor’.
