Syngonium podophyllum ‘White Butterfly’ — Arrowhead Plant

Description

Syngonium podophyllum ‘White Butterfly’ is a tropical arrowhead plant with creamy centers, soft green margins, and a versatile vining habit. Young plants stay compact, while mature stems can climb a support or trail from a container.

Its pale foliage makes a strong contrast with darker vines such as Scindapsus ‘Black Satin’. It also combines well with cascading foliage from Swedish Ivy and textured plants such as Tradescantia ‘Fuzzy Purple’.

Light and Water

Give ‘White Butterfly’ bright, indirect light to support strong growth and good leaf color. Protect it from harsh midday sun. Water when the upper portion of the potting mix begins to dry, then allow excess water to drain completely.

Soil and Training

Use a loose, well-drained indoor potting mix in a container with drainage holes. Pinch long stems to maintain a fuller plant, or provide a pole or trellis if you prefer a climbing form.

Propagation and Care

Stem cuttings with at least one node root readily in water or moist potting mix. Keep the plant warm, away from cold drafts, and inspect new growth regularly for common houseplant pests. Syngonium contains irritating calcium oxalate crystals, so keep it away from pets and children that may chew the foliage.
