Bougainvillea ‘Sundown Orange’

Description

Bougainvillea ‘Sundown Orange’ is a vigorous tropical vine with warm orange bracts that create a rich sunset effect in full sun. It can be trained over fences and trellises, allowed to spill over walls, or kept smaller with regular pruning in a large container.

Light and Flowering

Give ‘Sundown Orange’ full sun for the strongest flowering and deepest color. Too much shade usually produces more foliage and fewer colorful bracts.

Soil and Water

Plant in fast-draining soil or potting mix. Water well while the plant establishes, then let the upper root zone dry somewhat between waterings instead of keeping it constantly wet.

Color Pairings

The warm orange bracts contrast well with the pale tones of ‘Key West White’ and the deep purple color of ‘Elizabeth Angus’.

Training and Containers
