Description

Medinilla myriantha, commonly sold as ‘Malaysian Orchid,’ is a tropical flowering plant with glossy veined leaves and hanging clusters of soft pink to lavender flowers. Despite the common name, it is not an orchid; it belongs to the Melastomataceae family.

Light and Temperature

Grow in bright filtered light and warm conditions. Protect the foliage from harsh direct afternoon sun and keep the plant away from cold drafts.

Soil, Water, and Humidity

Use an airy, well-drained potting mix and water when the upper portion begins to dry. Medinilla appreciates moderate to high humidity but should never sit in saturated soil.
